Our story
Built for the animals who cannot speak for themselves.
Pawsettle exists because pets deserve a plan. Not as an afterthought, not as property to be divided, but as living creatures whose welfare should come first in any arrangement between the people who love them.
Why Pawsettle Exists
There is no shortage of tools for couples navigating a separation. Prenups, legal agreements, financial planning: the infrastructure exists. Children have protection built into law and into culture. But pets? Pets fall into a gap that nobody talks about enough.
When a relationship ends, a pet can become a point of conflict almost overnight. Two people who both love the same animal can find themselves with no framework, no record, and no agreed plan. The animal pays the price for that uncertainty.
Taz Ahmad built Pawsettle because he felt that gap personally, not as a pet owner, but as someone who has always cared deeply about animals and watched the world underserve them. The focus on human legal arrangements felt disproportionate. Pets are not assets. They are living creatures with routines, relationships and emotional needs. They deserved something built specifically for them.
The Person Behind It
Taz has a background in aerospace engineering and industrial management, and has spent the last several years running Axies Digital, a growing digital marketing agency based in Leicester focused on paid media and SEO. Pawsettle is not his day job. It is a passion project, in the truest sense of the phrase.
He has also lectured in strategy, management and marketing at De Montfort University, another pursuit driven by genuine interest rather than necessity. When the pandemic moved teaching online and the spark went out of it, he moved on. The space it left became the space Pawsettle grew into.
He does not currently own a pet. He is waiting until life is calm enough to give one the attention it properly deserves. That instinct, of not doing something until you can do it right, runs through everything about how Pawsettle has been built.
What We Believe
Pets are not property.
UK law still classifies pets as chattels. We think that is wrong, and we think the people who love their pets think so too. Until the law catches up, Pawsettle helps people treat their animals the way they deserve to be treated: with care, with planning, and with their welfare at the centre of every decision.
Planning ahead is an act of love.
A petnup is not pessimistic. A pet parenting agreement is not an admission of failure. They are both ways of saying: this animal matters enough to us that we have thought seriously about what happens to them. That is love in its most practical form.
Good tools should be accessible.
Solicitors are expensive. Mediation is stressful. Not every situation requires either. Pawsettle exists to give people a way to document and plan without needing professional help for every step. The free tier is genuinely free. No card required, no trial period, no catch.
If you need this and cannot afford it, tell us.

The Road Ahead
Pawsettle launched in the UK first, because UK law and the UK conversation around pet welfare felt like the right place to start. The plan has always been broader than that.
An equine expansion is in development. Horses occupy a unique space in ownership, care and dispute: loan agreements, co ownership arrangements, livery responsibilities. The same principles that make Pawsettle useful for dogs and cats apply to horses, and the community around equine ownership is one that deserves proper tools.
Beyond that, the ambition is simple: to build the most useful, most trusted platform for pet planning in the world. Not the flashiest. Not the most funded. The most genuinely useful.
Because your pet deserves a plan.
Free to start. No card required. Built by someone who genuinely cares.
